Goodman Trevor Nash Phillip[3]Every year, Microsoft holds a global competition to find the world champions in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Over 400,000 students in 130 countries participate each year.  Each of the 130 countries runs a national competition to find the top 3 students in their respective countries to represent their nation in the world final, being held this August in Dallas, Texas.  Last year, a student from SRT in Maple Ridge became the first ever student from a high school to represent Canada, alongside students from university and college.  I am thrilled, to announce that Westview has managed to have not just one………..NOT JUST TWO……BUT ALL THREE Canada national places!!  Our three winners have outperformed competition from schools, colleges and universities all over Canada to win the national competition, and receive an all-expenses paid trip to Dallas sponsored by Microsoft’s partner for Microsoft Certification and the Microsoft IT Academy Program, CCI Learning.  This is an incredible achievement for School District 42, Westview Secondary, the students in Todd Goodman’s class and of course our winners, who I would like to introduce to you now as I award them with their national champion certificates.
